The briefing preparation could not have been more timely. On May 23, 2016, two days prior to departure for New York City, the entire seventh-grade team at North Hampton School in New Hampshire, (60 students, 4 teachers) were presented with an introduction to a workshop, sponsored by Artists Building Capacity as World Citizens, highlighting the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
To heighten awareness, to understand the commitment, and to personally work for the betterment of the world are lofty ideals; but service begins with awareness. An unprecedented 193 countries are committed to the goals and this next generation of decision-makers are at the forefront of meaningful change.
